The site is adjacent at the right angle to a 6-meter-wide one-way road branched out of a 6-lane street between GangNam Office and GangNam District Tax Office. An elementary school is located nearby, and houses, small shops and private tutoring institutes are mixed around it.

Unless you concentrate on the building, you will not grasp the entire building on the narrow 6-meter-wide road. Hence, the design points were set on pedestrians' glimpse of it, or the left or right sides of the building visible during their approach from the road-side towards it.
The starting points of design were resolutions of such statutory regulations for setback and northern sunshine right.

Since the two oblique lines of different directions had to meet each other, the floor area should be more limited. So, second and third floors were designed to be as wide as possible for an optimal floor area ratio. On the ground floor occupied much by the indoor parking lot, the glass curtain wall had to be set back. As a result, a mass of strong image could be formed naturally with its second and third floors highlighted enough to look like being floated. Vertical circulation and core were deployed in the space not subject to setback regulation.

After all, a dynamic mass broken and folded could be formed taking advantage of the setback regulations, and its inside (walls, ceilings, stairways, etc.) could also be structured to be tense.
Heterogeneous windows between planes serve to introduce diverse lights to render a unique sense of space. The staircase with the curtain wall on its two sides was planned to induce the sunlights affluently, while its sides were connected with each other from first basement up to rooftop to form an axis for both vertical and horizontal circulations. You may well feel the material steel through this curtain wall even from outside.
