A club house that had completely worn-out after about 17 years of use was to be renovated for a holistic improvement. The target was to provide members with a new club house that possesses an architectural meaning.

The existing building is one designed as a wooden structure, and in order to preserve the architectural moral, it was to be restored without damaging the architect’s intention. By aiming at overall lighting design, other decorative factors were excluded, thereby emphasizing the spatial and visual beauty of a beautiful structure as much as possible.

The existing restaurant is made of a 2-step structure, and the restaurant tables facing the corridor were mixed with traffic of serving and passage. Designing the tables in the passage side as a booth type while maintaining a 2-step structure was intended to secure a passage and ensure the privacy of visitors. The height of the booth was accordingly designed so that the seating doesn’t shield the view outside the window. The restaurant and lounge gave a space with a sense of openness with wall surfaces, floor finishing materials, and furniture design while maintaining the structure and wooden finishing of the inner ceiling.
